Most of us are curious about celebrities and some may even be a little envious when we see the mega-mansions and fancy cars. Everything looks so great and to be honest a lot of times it is, however just like normal people celebrities find themselves in trouble with the law when an arrest happens to a celebrity it’s usually big news. Below are some of the notable celebrity arrests so far in 2019.
Michael Avenatti
Arrest date: March 25, 2019
Charges: Extortion
Details: Avenatti is a lawyer who was known for representing actress Stormy Daniels and who has allegedly been arrested for the attempt of extorting almost 25 million from Nike. The complaint stated that Avenatti approached Nike and offered to withhold information that he had for exchange of payment to a client that Avenatti had and to also be retained by Nike.
R. Kelly
Arrest Date: February 22, 2019
Charges: Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse
After turning himself in Kelly was charged with 10 counts of Aggravated criminal sexual abuse from four different women. Bond was set at 1 million dollars. There were also stipulations in R. Kelly’s bond that stated he could not have any contact with anyone under the age of 18. His passport was also taken so he could not leave the country.
Lori Loughlin
Arrest / Indicted Date: March 12, 2019
Charges: College admissions fraud scheme
On March 12, 2019, the former Hallmark Channel actress and Full House star Lori Loughlin were indicted in part of the college admission fraud scheme that also arrested over a dozen others. These charges show that parents were involved in manipulating records, cheat on on entrance exams to get their kids into elite colleges. The indictment of Loughlin was that she paid 500,000 to secure her two daughters on the USC crew team. However, neither of her daughters play sports. She is also charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud.
Felicity Huffman

Charges: College admissions fraud scheme
According to the indictment, Felicity paid another person to take her oldest daughters SAT test and paid them 15,000 to do so. She has been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud along with honest services fraud.
June Shannon
Arrest Date: March 13, 2019
Charges: Possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia
Better known as Mama June from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. June Shannon was arrested on March 13, 2019, for drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested after fighting with her boyfriend Geno Doak.
Julian Assange
Arrest Date: April 11, 2019
Charges: Conspiring to commit computer intrusion.
Julian Assange the WikiLeaks founder was arrested on April 11, 2019, at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London. The charge on Assange relates to the 2010 release of American files that has information that documents the killing of a civilian and journalists.

Arrest Date: March 24, 2019
Charges: Driving under the influence
Reservoir Dogs and Hateful Eight actor Michael Madsen was arrested on March 24, 2019, for driving while intoxicated. Bail was set at $15,000 and he was released the next day. Celebrity arrests like drinking and driving happen every year.
Jussie Smollett

Charges: Suspicion of filing a false report
This celebrity arrests made national news when Jussie Smollett a cast member on Empire made false reports that he was attacked on January 29, 2019. Police in Chicago stated that Smollett paid actors 3,500 to two wen that helped stage the attack on Smollett.

Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph also known as 21 Savage was arrested on February 3, 2019, by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement for an overstayed visa. The rapper is a citizen of the United Kingdom
ASAP Rocky
Arrest Date: July 2, 2019
Charges: Suspicion of aggravated assault
Rapp star A$AP Rocky surrendered voluntarily on July 2, 2019, to Swedish police for questioning about a street fight that took place and he was immediately arrested. Even though evidence shows that the victim was being harsh on Rocky’s bodyguards and ASAP even states they do not want to fight. He was found guilty for assault in Sweden but he will not face any prison time.
Arrests happen everyday however arrest of the rich and famous don’t. So when something does happen it makes national news. Even though it may look like all peaches and cream when looking at celebrity lifestyles there are times when they become just like normal people facing the same issues as everyone else.
