Maryland Judiciary Case Search Data

When a search is performed data containing traffic, criminal and civil matters in Marland will be found. When a record is formed because of a court hearing that data is then transferred over to the Marland clerk of courts for creation into the online system.

Case search from the courts is the online way that people can search for records in Maryland. This was put into place in January 2006 and will show detailed information from all Maryland Circuit and District court case management systems. Information such as names, city and state, date of births, trial data, charges, case disposition and more will be available within the results.

The data once entered by the clerk’s office is almost immediately ready for viewing with one exception, entry from the Montogomery County Circuit Court has a small delay of up to 10 minutes.

How far back can you search

When searching there are limits to how far back case will go for the following these are the years back you can expect to find certain data:

Criminal (Late 1991)
Civil (1989)
Traffic case records

Traffic cases that have been closed for 36 months and were not serious offenses will go into the District court history database. Keep in mind that at anytime a traffic case can be accessed by the public using a device located in the clerk’s office. So you would have to be in the office to have this work.

How to use the Marland Judiciary Case Search

Maryland search box

The data provided within the Marland Judiciary case search is designed for the public and to use the search the records are governed by the Marland rules on access to court records. Before using the search you need to agree and click continue from their web portal.

Once in the search screen, the system allows users to search by the following parameters:

  • First & Last name
  • Case Type
  • Court System
  • County
  • Filing date

You can also search by a case number if you have this. Simple select the court and input the case number hit search and your result should come back with a hit if you have a valid case number.

Once you have the appropriate search fields filled out the hit search. If a match is made then your results will show where you can view the information you were requesting.

How long do case records remain on the Marland Judiciary case search website?

These records unless there is a court-ordered reason will stay within the database indefinitely.

Traffic

As we stated above, traffic cases that are not serious have a 36-month shelf life, then they are sent to the history database. However, a more serious offense like DUI or other violations that require a court hearing is kept in the case search indefinitely.

What if you can’t find the data?

There could be a few reasons why you cannot find the information you’re looking for. For one, be sure to double check the spelling of the data you are inputting.

Keep in mind that depending on what you are looking for the record may have been put into the history section of data. If this is the case you would need to actually go to the courthouse to pull the data for viewing.

Could the records have gotten expunged from viewing? it is possible for this to happen.

Using a search service to find records

Using a search service to find Maryland public records like criminal, arrest, warrants, and contact information is possible. Search services check federal, state, and county data in one search and results are provided in one easy-to-read report. Not only does it save time, but money as well.
