This is the relationship between technology and the right to privacy. This is a big topic especially with the advancement in products and apps like Facebook, Alexa, and so on. Our privacy is more at risk more than ever because of technology.

Financial privacy

This type of privacy is data about someone financial transactions. These are extremely important to guard as they can make identity theft and fraud much easier.

Internet privacy

Internet privacy is the security and privacy of someones personal data and information published via the internet. It is the process and techniques of protecting sensitive data and communications through the internet. As of late these internet privacy techniques have come under questions especially when giants like Facebook have been in the news for a partnership with a data-mining consulting firm named Cambridge Analytica.

Medical privacy

Like most records that are created today they are being digitized for our convenience for easier searching and viewing. Child Privacy

In 1998 the United States federal law enacted the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act or the (COPPA) This act limits the collection of personal information on a person that is under 13 years of age. You can read more about Child privacy in our Child Privacy page.

What is a privacy policy online?

A privacy policy is a legal document that will disclose the ways the website or party use gathers and discloses customers or users data. Most websites have a privacy policy and make it available to site visitors. It should explain what type of information is gathered such as names, address, credit cards, etc. If the websites make downloading possible like software, it should also explain that as well or uploading data. Common accordance is the use of cookies. A cookie is a way for a website to track a person movement within the site.
